Recommended Concentration:

General Usage: EGMS is typically used at concentrations of 1% to 5% in most formulations. The specific amount will depend on the desired effect (e.g., viscosity, stability, emulsification).

Solubility:

EGMS is oil-soluble and should be added to the oil phase of your formulation. It helps to emulsify the oil and water phases in formulations.

It is not soluble in water, so it’s crucial to ensure it is properly mixed with other oils or emulsifiers in the formulation.

Temperature Sensitivity:

EGMS has a melting point of approximately 56–58°C (132–136°F), so it should be heated to this temperature for proper incorporation into the formulation.

It is commonly added to the oil phase of emulsions and can be included when the oils are heated during the emulsification process.

Compatibility:

With Emulsifiers: EGMS is often used in combination with other emulsifiers (such as Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbates, or Glyceryl Stearate) to improve the stability and texture of emulsions.

With Oils and Waxes: It blends well with various oils (e.g., jojoba oil, shea butter) and waxes (e.g., beeswax, candelilla wax) to create smooth and stable emulsions.

With Active Ingredients: EGMS is compatible with a variety of active ingredients, such as vitamins, herbal extracts, and essential oils, as it aids in their stable incorporation into formulations.

Applications:

Lotions & Creams: It helps stabilize emulsions and improve the texture and spreadability of lotions and creams.

Hair Care Products: It is used in hair conditioners, shampoos, and hair masks to provide thickening and emulsifying properties.

Body Butters & Balms: EGMS can contribute to a thicker consistency, providing the smooth, creamy texture desirable in body butters and balms.

Cosmetics: It is used in formulations like foundations, primers, and sunscreens to provide smooth application and even consistency.
