Rosemary Essential Oil

How to Use

Recommended Concentration:

Skincare: Rosemary essential oil should be used at a concentration of 0.5% to 2% in formulations.

Haircare: For hair and scalp treatments, you can use rosemary oil at 1% to 3% to stimulate circulation and encourage hair growth.

Solubility:

Rosemary essential oil is oil-soluble and should be added to the oil phase of your formulation. If you're working with an emulsion (cream, lotion), use an emulsifier to blend it with the water phase.

It’s also suitable for adding directly to carrier oils like jojoba oil, coconut oil, or grapeseed oil for use in serums, body oils, and hair treatments.

pH Range:

As an essential oil, rosemary oil doesn’t have a direct pH range, but the overall formulation should remain between 4.5 to 6.5 for optimal performance and stability in skincare.

Temperature Sensitivity:

Rosemary essential oil is heat-sensitive and can degrade with prolonged exposure to high temperatures. To preserve its beneficial properties, add it during the cool-down phase (below 40°C) of your formulation, especially in creams, lotions, and serums.

Compatibility:

Rosemary essential oil blends well with a variety of other essential oils, such as lavender, peppermint, tea tree, and eucalyptus, for synergistic benefits.

It can also be combined with carrier oils (like argan oil or jojoba oil) for soothing and nourishing effects.

Applications:

Skincare Products: Rosemary essential oil can be included in toners, face oils, and anti-aging serums. It is particularly beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Haircare Products: Commonly used in shampoos, conditioners, scalp treatments, and hair oils. Rosemary essential oil helps stimulate hair follicles, improve circulation to the scalp, and prevent dandruff.

Body Care Products: It can be used in body oils, creams, and scrubs for its invigorating scent, as well as its benefits for circulation and skin toning.
