How to Use

1. pH Adjuster

How to Use:

  • Concentration: Typically, 0.1%–0.5% Triethanolamine is used to adjust the pH.
  • Incorporation: After mixing your formulation, check the pH. Slowly add Triethanolamine drop by drop to the formulation while stirring until the desired pH level is reached. Be cautious not to add too much, as excessive TEA can lead to skin irritation.

2. Emulsifier

Triethanolamine is commonly used in oil-in-water emulsions, where it helps to combine and stabilize the oil and water phases of creams, lotions, and other emulsified products.

How to Use:

  • Concentration: Use 0.5%–1.5% Triethanolamine as an emulsifier, depending on the formulation.
  • Incorporation: Add Triethanolamine to the water phase before combining with the oil phase. It will help emulsify the oil and water, creating a smooth, stable mixture.

3. Surfactant Booster

Triethanolamine is often included in formulations with surfactants (such as cleansers and shampoos) to enhance the foaming and cleansing action. It works by neutralizing acidic surfactants, making them more effective.

  • Concentration: Use 0.5%–1% Triethanolamine to boost surfactant performance.

4. Stabilizer for Gels and Creams
